Emotion Explorer

What Is the Emotion Explorer?

A creative mindfulness activity that helps you sit down with a feeling and get to know it. Instead of labeling an emotion and moving on, you explore it through color, body sensations, sound, movement, and more. At the end, you receive a personal Emotion Portrait — a snapshot of your inner world in that moment.

Why Explore Your Emotions?

Research in somatic psychology and emotional literacy shows that connecting to feelings through the body and through creative expression can improve self-awareness, reduce stress, and build emotional resilience. Giving an emotion a color, a sound, or a nickname transforms it from something abstract into something you can observe and relate to.

How It Works

Choose from 16 emotions or type your own. Then answer nine questions about your emotion — what color it is, where it lives in your body, what sound it makes, and more. Each question helps you build a richer picture of what you're feeling. Your answers come together as an Emotion Portrait you can save to your account and revisit anytime.

Pick an emotion and explore it through color, sound, sensation, and more. At the end, you'll see your Emotion Portrait.
