Privacy Policy

Effective: July 1, 2026

Hum n Play (humnplay.com) is operated by New View Advice, LLC, an Arizona limited liability company (“Hum n Play,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address (used to send you a magic sign-in link — we don't use passwords) and, optionally, a display name you choose.

Game data. Depending on which games you play and whether you're logged in, we may store:

  • Progress data for games that let you resume where you left off (e.g. Puzzle Time), so you can pick up later.
  • Content you create and choose to save, such as entries in Gratitude Jar.
  • A count of how many times you've played each game, so we can show you your “Most Played” games.

None of this is collected if you're not logged in — most games on the site work without an account, and we don't track anonymous visitors' activity inside games.

Site usage data. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand overall traffic to the site. This is a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service — it doesn't use cookies, doesn't collect anything that identifies you personally, and doesn't track you across other websites. Session identifiers it generates are anonymous and are discarded after 24 hours.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to let you sign in and keep your account secure, save and restore your game progress and saved content, show you your own activity (Most Played, resume banners, saved jars) on your account page, understand overall site usage so we can improve the site, and send you account-related email such as sign-in links.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

3. An important note about saved content

Some games let you save personal reflections (for example, Gratitude Jar entries). We want to be upfront: while other users can never see your saved entries, this content is stored as plain text in our database and is technically accessible to us as the site operator — for example, if we needed to look something up for support or maintenance purposes. It is not currently protected by end-to-end encryption. We'll update this policy if that changes. If this matters to you, please keep it in mind when deciding what to save.

4. Third-party services we use

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site: Supabase hosts our database and handles authentication; Resend sends transactional emails (like magic sign-in links) on our behalf; Vercel hosts the site and provides the anonymous analytics described above. These providers process data on our behalf and don't have independent rights to use it for their own purposes. We don't currently use any advertising or marketing trackers.

5. Cookies and local storage

We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Signing in uses your browser's local storage (not a cookie) to keep you signed in between visits. If your browser is set to automatically clear site data when it closes (a common setting in some browsers, e.g. Firefox), you may find yourself signed out each time you reopen the browser — that's a setting on your end, not something we control.

6. Children's privacy

Hum n Play is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we've collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it.

7. Your choices

You can update your display name any time from your account page, and delete individual saved entries (like gratitude jars) yourself where that feature is available. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted entirely, or have any other request regarding your information, email us at humnplay@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including relying on Supabase's security infrastructure and row-level security rules that prevent other users from accessing your data through the app. That said, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site grows (for example, if we introduce paid features). We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
